Antique Barbour SP Int’l Silver Repousse Cigarette Tobacco Box, Ashtray, Matches

Description

Antique / vintage Barbour S.P. International Co. #3275 all-in-one combo set wood lined cigarette / tobacco box with receptacle for loose tobacco (or rolled cigarettes) or ashtray?, plus matches holder and strike.  Presumably silverplate (over copper? there is a gold-tone on the inside lid), but viewer to determined based on markings and knowledge of this early brand.  The cedar wood lining is dove-tailed, but missing a sliver on one side (see photos).  The repousse scenes are very detailed – appears to include a spinner and spinning wheel, dog, fiddler, dancers, houses, farmer and wife (Dutch? interesting – one side of the match holder shows the front of the couple, and the backside of the holder shows the rear view of the couple), and lots of nouveau looking scrolls.  In very good vintage condition, including the box lid which works perfectly. Approx 5“ across excluding the match holder, and 5-7/8“ including the match holder.  Approx. 3“ front to back, and about 1-3/4“ tall excluding the match holder, and 3-3/4“ including the match holder.
